Discord’s servers are a nice spot to talk with pals, but at times it might get too silent. So, to tackle this and enhance the fun, Discord introduced bots, which let users play tunes.
However, if you can’t get a bot to work, or you simply want another way to play audio on Discord, read this guide.

Adjusting Windows Audio Settings
Before you can begin blasting music through your mic on Discord, you need to edit a few settings on Windows.
- Right-click the speakers icon on the Windows taskbar, select Open Sound settings, then open the Sound Control Panel in the top right of the window. Alternatively, you can just type “Sound Control Panel” in the Windows search.
- Open the Recording tab.
- Scroll down until you see Stereo Mix and make sure it’s enabled.
- Click Set Default and close the control panel.
Once you have modified the audio settings, you can get back to Discord, enter a voice channel and commence playing music.
Everyone should be able to hear the music coming from your mic.
If it still isn’t working for you, go to Discord’s User Settings and then to Voice & Video. In the input dropdown menu, select Stereo Mix, then go back and try again.
That’s all there is to it!
Now you can enjoy some of your favorite songs with your friends and teammates on Discord!
