Better Discord is an excellent open-source application that further extends the capabilities of Discord. This translates to a much better user interface, more customization options, access to plugins, more emotes, improved security, and more!
However, installing this app can be a little tricky, so here’s quick helpful guide on what you should do.
Downloading Better Discord
First things first, you will need to download the application before installing it. So head on over to the official Better Discord website and click the download button.
Keep in mind, the beta or latest updates are sometimes first added to GitHub. If you decide to go through GitHub, make sure to download the auto-installer for the appropriate operating system.
Installing Better Discord
The installation process shouldn’t be too complicated; just make sure you already have (regular) Discord installed. Then, follow the steps, select the appropriate version, and click Install.
This process should be complete in a matter of seconds and Discord will automatically start.
To confirm that the installation was successful, you should see a changelog/patch notes pop-up for Better Discord.
Accessing Settings And Customization
The whole purpose of this open-source addition to Discord is customization and settings freedom. To access these new options, you need to go to User Settings and scroll to the bottom of the list of settings on the left.
At the bottom, you should see BetterDiscord. This is where you will be able to set up emotes, themes, plugins, and a lot more.
