Discord’s servers are perfect for building online communities or gathering your friends in one place. You can have thousands, even tens of thousands, of people in a single server.
However, a chat can quickly become cluttered when hundreds of users send messages simultaneously.
If you want to clean up your server, you will need to clear your chat rooms. Here’s a short guide on how you can do that.

Clearing Discord Chat Manually
The easier, but somewhat tedious method of clearing a chat, is to do it manually.
Just hold down any Shift key and click the trashcan icon on the right side of the message. This can be a slightly painstaking method because you need to do it for every single message, which is not exactly efficient.
Fortunately, there is an alternative method.
Clearing Discord Chat With A Bot
The alternative method for clearing a Discord chat uses a bot. The bot can automatically clear all messages in a text channel with a simple command.
There are several different bots available that can execute this kind of command but, for this guide, we used MEE6 as an example.
- Go to the official MEE6 bot website.
- Click Add to Discord, select your server and click Continue.
- Once MEE6 has joined the server, go to the bot’s dashboard.
- On the dashboard, you need to enable the Moderator commands.
- Return to your server’s text channel and type !clear 100.
After inputting this command, MEE6 will immediately delete the previous 100 messages in the text channel. You can input any number to specify exactly how many messages you want to delete. This is a very useful feature!
You can also specify a particular username to delete all of the user’s messages. For example: !clear @PCStrike.
That’s all there is to it. Remember, MEE6 is not the only bot with this kind of command. Plenty of other bots can provide you with the same or perhaps even better features.
