How To Change Your Twitch Username

Not happy with your current Twitch username? Fear not, as changing your Twitch name is very easy. Here is a guide to help you change your Twitch username.

The community aspect of Twitch is what makes it more than just a regular online streaming platform. Chatting with other users, gifting subscriptions, and raiding are only some of the things you can do, and they never fail to excite.

But, what is the one feature that makes all this possible? It’s the username system.

Twitch makes it possible for users to set unique nicknames. So, whenever you encounter someone on the platform, you know who you’re interacting with.

Setting a unique Twitch name.

This, of course, makes streamers stand out from others and make their channels recognizable.

What about changing a username, though? How does one do that? Find out in the guide below.

Changing Your Twitch Username In A Few Easy Steps

If you want to learn how to change your Twitch name, following the steps below will help you achieve that in less than a few minutes.

  1. Open Twitch.tv on your browser of choice and sign in to your account.
  2. Click on your avatar icon in the top-right corner of the screen. From the dropdown menu, select Settings to access the configuration panel.
  3. In the Settings panel, select Profile from the top menu. See the image below.
  4. Scroll down a bit until you see the “Profile Settings” section. In the username field, click on the edit icon just like the image below suggests.
  5. Now, input a unique username and confirm the change by clicking the Update button. As long as your new username doesn’t conflict with Twitch’s username policy, the changes will take effect immediately.

Now you’ve successfully changed your Twitch username! Note that your channel URL will also change, so make sure to notify your fans and followers if you have an already well-established channel on Twitch.

Problems When Changing Your Twitch Username
